Wicked!!!

I finally got to see what all the hype was about! My parents took Emma and I to see Wicked yesterday afternoon. I absolutely L-O-V-E loved it!!! The woman who played Elphaba had THE most incredible voice I have ever heard! It was just awesome!

Happy Birthday Kandus and Tami!

Friday a group of 20 gathered to celebrate Kandus and Tami's birthdays. We met downtown at the Rio Grande Cafe. It was a lot of fun to just catch up with friends and surprise the birthday girls with their presents. Happy Birthday Kandus and Tami!!! Michele and Kandus

After unwrapping 3 boxes plus the actual gift Kandus discovered her bright pink iPod. Kendall was an excellent photographer and got her at the perfect moment!

For those who may be in need of a little laugh I will remind you of the fact that I am currently the cheerleader advisor at my junior high. I will give you a moment to get your giggling under control......................................................................................................................... Now on to the story.

This week has been cheer try-outs. Today was the actual judging day and we made it through without incident. That is, until the very end of the very last dance. As the girls went to perform their splits I noticed that one girl crumpled to the floor and did not get up. I ran down out of the stands to see what was wrong. She had popped her knee cap out of place. She wasn't crying but she was in a lot of pain. I sat down on the floor with her and laid her head in my lap. Her dad had been out front waiting for her so he was able to come straight in when she called him. Because she was in so much pain she would not let us move her, so we finally just called the paramedics. When the paramedics got there they decided to put in an IV to start some pain medication. My student had been doing so well, but the idea of a needle caused her to freak out. So, I had to try to help the paramedics hold her down to get an IV in. She grabbed both of my arms and wrapped them around her head so that she couldn't see what was going on in her arm. Then the paramedics went to place a brace around her leg and she spazzed again. She kept saying, "I need to hold Ms. White! Ms. White where's you hand? I need you to hold me." I felt so badly for her. Her dad stood near her feet saying, "Come on, you aren't that weak." So, I got to play cheer advisor, counselor, school official, and mother all at the same time.

See what happens when you put Sarah White in charge of the cheerleaders?!?! I swear I warned someone last year that this was not a good idea!

I gave in to peer pressure

Well, it's official, I now have a Facebook profile! I swore that I would never have one of those, but desperate times call for desperate measures. The story is rather entertaining and would catch most of you by surprise. My reasons for joining Facebook will not be published on this very public forum (however, I will respond to an e-mail from curious friends) because they are slightly embarrassing and not meant for certain eyes.

Add me as a friend! Since Monday night I only have 34 friends. Since I'm convinced Facebook is an electronic popularity contest my competitiveness has reared it's ugly head and I want to be up there with the best of the best.

9th Grade Picture Day

Can you believe it's that time of year again??? Today we had our annual 9th grade picture. They managed to squish about 375 14 and 15 year olds onto some very small bleachers and no one got hurt. We officially get to pass this charming group of students on to the high schools in about 35 days. It's easier for me to say good-bye to this group than it was last year because I haven't been working exclusively with the 9th grade this year (we've divided the student body by alphabet among the counselors), and they are not my very first group.

Then when we were done Ms. White was cool enough to agree to take pictures of the Student Government. They got to miss the last 15 minutes of second period because they were able to talk me into taking all sorts of pictures.

Yes, I did allow a student with a broken foot to jump off the stairs, no it was not my idea and I am not taking responsibility for it. Please don't tell his mother. (But I don't think she would be too surprised. He broke his foot after the rocking horse he was riding on the roof of a shed fell off the roof and took him with it. Genious!)

Happy Easter

I realized today how very grateful I am for the Easter holiday and what is symbolizes. I believe that Jesus Christ atoned for my sins. Not only did He atone for my sins but he experienced all the heartaches and pains that I have felt. Jesus Christ is the only being who knows my joys and pains and who has experienced them the way I have. I believe that Christ was resurrected and that because of Him we will all be resurrected. Heavenly Father is a merciful God and desires to have all of us return to live with him. He made that possible through the atonement and resurrection of his Son Jesus Christ. I believe that I will be resurrected and will be allowed to live with the people I love the most if I live worthily. I believe that I will see my dear Tyler again because Heavenly Father is aware of my love for Tyler. I love my Heavenly Father and I love Jesus Christ. I am grateful for their never-ending patience with me. I am grateful for the opportunity I have to pray always and I know that Heavenly Father hears and answers my prayers. I know that everyone has the same opportunity I have to pray and have their prayers answered. I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and I know it is true. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
