May 5th Emma's Prom

Saturday May 5th was Emma's Prom.  Because Travis and I are so awesome we showed up again this year to wish her well on her date. :)

Emma looked absolutely beautiful in her dress.  Callie did her hair and did a great job.

Emma and her date, Dakota

We got a good giggle out of the height difference.  I think each of us in the house were slightly jealous of Dakota.

Valley Jr. The School of Champions!

Not only have my students won the championship in 2 sports this year, our MESA team won the district MESA championship this year!  It was so exciting.  These kids have been walking around with such pride.  Their advisor refers to them as "Champions."  Just as with the sports teams the MESA team got to do a championship run and present their trophy to the school.  So fun!

Concert # 5 The Black Keys

May 2, 2012 was our May concert.  We saw the Black Keys  at the Maverik Center.  They are really great performers!  The show itself was... interesting.  Everyone around us was drunk and drinking lots.  The guy who sat next to me just had a large Coke and I thought, "Oh good, he won't be drinking!"  Only to watch him pull a flask out of his pants and say, "Hi neighbor!  Do you want some whiskey?"  "Um... no thanks."  As soon as The Black Keys hit the stage the entire arena smelled like marijuana.  I needed a shower when I got home!

Living Vicariously Through My Sister... Again

Emma let me play in her Prom dress again.  This timie it was this year's Prom.  I had to promise not to post it anywhere until Prom was over, and I kept my promise.  Here it is!  It's a beautiful dress and I didn't want to take it off.  Emma looked beautiful when she wore it to Prom.

Concert #4: Snow Patrol

Saturday April 28th was concert #4!  My New Year's Resolution is going quite well.  My concert buddies and I saw Snow Patrol at In The Venue. It was a great show (although the couple who stood WAY too close behind us for awhile was slightly distracting...).
Next concert...  The Black Keys May 2nd.

My concert buddies:  Emily and Janelle

April 24 7th Grade Career Day

On April 24th I got to go with the entire 7th grade to the South Jordan Equestrian Park for Career Day.  It was really a lot of fun.  The kids got to play with all sorts of equipment related to different careers and talk to professionals.  For the most part our students were really well behaved and I was proud of them.  We've been lucky to have a great 7th grade group this year.

Some of my cute friends that I get to work with.  Ashley and Tasha.  I work with really fun people.

At this station students learned how to change tires on race cars.  The professionals timed the kids.  I helped talk these cute girls into participating and they did great!

It was a fun day, but we were all ready for a nap by the time we left.

The Awesomest Tan Line EVER!

Saturday April 21st was an awesome day.  The sun was shining, the temperature was warm, and it was great for watching Travis' football game.  The problem is my skin soaks in the sun like crazy.  I wore capris (mistake #1) and didn't even think about sunscreen (mistake #2) or covering up the exposed skin (mistake #3).  Therefore, I ended up with these awesome tan lines.  They started out as a sunburn, but in regular Sarah fashion (and usually I don't complain about this) there was no peeling it just turned brown.  So, the awesome tan lines remain.  It's quite attractive when I where shorts.  Even better is when I wear knee length skirts to church.  I'm quite the catch.

April 21, 2012 Date Night on Ensign Peak

April 21st Travis and I took a hike up Ensign Peak.  He wanted to show me some of the areas he's been hunting.  I haven't been up Ensign Peak for a long time.  It was the perfect evening for this trip!  The sunset was beautiful.  I was so glad to spend some quiet time chatting with Travis and watching the sunset.  I am so grateful to live in Utah.

Shelby wasn't too thrilled to have her picture taken, but we convinced her.

The Great Utah Shake-Out

Valley Jr. High participated in the Great Utah Shake-Out on April 17, 2012.  As the rest of the school was safely under their desks I was running around taking pictures for the press release.  :)  I survived!  It's a miracle.

I seriously have the cutest students ever!
