White Christmas 2011

Yes, it was 8:30 a.m. and we all still looked as though we needed a long winter's nap.

After the White Christmas celebration at the parental units' we made our way to Grandma and Grandpa Grover's house. I gave Travis a remote control helicopter (because I am an awesome girlfriend). He and Tannon spent a few minutes trying to get it going out front.

Christmas was a perfect day!

Travis and I spent the afternoon of Christmas Eve with his family. We all saw "Arthur Christmas" and then headed to Mindy and Cory's for dinner and some intense gingerbread house decorating (we had to get creative with the house assembly). Then I got to drop in at my cousin's house and see my dad's family for a few minutes. Then it was off to the parents' to await Santa's arrival. Santa certainly found the White house.

After unwrapping presents we all went to church in my parents' ward. And then it was off to Grandma and Grandpa's for sourdough pancakes and all sorts of other food. Christmas truly is about family. I had a wonderful weekend and I am truly blessed!

Our Last WJHS Christmas Choir Concert

Emma's a senior this year, which means we attended our last West Jordan High School Christmas Choir Extravaganza. Emma is a Madrigal this year, so we got to watch her perform with the Madrigals and in Concert Choir. As usual, it was a great concert and helped put everyone in the Christmas mood.

This concert was near the end of their 70 performances this month.

Concert Choir members got to take children on stage to help donate toys for Toys for Tots and then the children got to stay on stage for a couple songs. Emma has been tutoring this little girl and took her up on stage with her. Cambria was thrilled to be on stage and so excited when she came back to her seat.

We Are The Champions... Again!

Valley Jr. High boys' and girls' basketball teams made it to the district championships this year. If you remember, our boys won the championship last year. They took 2nd this year, super exciting! It was our girl's turn to shine this year. After an undefeated season Coach Pace led the girls to a 46 to 15 victory over Evergreen Jr. on Tuesday December 20th at Taylorsville High School. What an exciting day!!!

I couldn't get a fantastic picture, but here's my tree! My very first Christmas tree all by myself! I sort of love it and never ever want to take it down.

This is the inside of my fridge. I hate, Hate, HaTe, HATE grocery shopping. I mean really HATE it! It's not that I can't go, or don't have the money, I just loathe the act of grocery shopping! I've been out of milk for at least 2 weeks now. I have one thing of yogurt left and 2 slices of bread. So, any guesses on how long until I convince myself to go grocery shopping? ;)

It's The Great Pumpkin White Family

Friday October 28th we gathered at my parents' house to participate in the annual pumpkin carving event. I never really look forward to carving pumpkins. The yucky guts get all under your fingernails and turn them orange, it gets stuck to your skin and makes your hands and arms all itchy. Blech! However, I didn't want to miss out on an evening of pumpkin carving (yes, I know I'm slightly difficult). Travis and I spent the evening with my parents, Emma, and her friend, Ashley. We had a lot of fun together and ended up with some great pumpkins.

Ashley came with this crazy pumpkin all covered in warts. When she went to cut into it she couldn't get the knife all the way in. So, we passed the crazy thick pumpkin to Dad. When the first knife didn't work, he went for a bigger one. We all found this particular pose fascinating.... And slightly frightening.

I believe we were having a "discussion" about something, but I can't remember what it was.
