Girls' Night! Woot! Woot!

Saturday night was a Girls' Night at our house. Jeanna left her husband and baby at home and came to play! We got take-out and watched a movie and then it was time for homemade facials. Jeanna had found recipes online and she decided she would experiment on Kandus and me.

This was the mask that was to go on our faces after the exfoliating scrub. It was mashed up strawberries, lemon juice, and corn starch.

Kandus was disgusted with the mess I made. She isn't home much when I cook. ;)

Ummmm....

Kandus mixing her exfoliating cream. That consisted of oats, baking soda, and water.

For some reason I took the role of applying the rub.

It was about this point that Jeanna and I started yelling, "IT BURNS!!!" I think that may have been our own fault. We added too much water to our mixture at first, so to make it more paste-like we kept adding baking soda. Probably not a wise decision...

Now it's time for the strawberry goop mask.

Once again, I get to apply the mess.

Jeanna's all set.

Kandus' turn!

My finished product.

I got to apply it to myself. Because of that, my ears, back of my neck, and hair were also participants.

Lizzy couldn't figure out what the heck we were doing. Maybe she was mad, she is a girl after all and maybe she just wanted to be part of the fun.

Yep, definitely the definition of beauty...

You know what? Now that I look at this picture closely, we look as though we would fit in perfectly with the cast of "Thriller."

Get it off!!! While Jeanna and Kandus tried to scrape everything off at the kitchen sink I had a stroke of genious... the shower! Much faster and far more efficient (although I was still finding chunks of strawberries in my ears the next morning).
It was a fun night. Helpful hint: don't add more baking soda, add more oats instead.

Did it actually work?

I'm afraid I have more blemishes than I started with. Maybe that's just all the guck leaving my skin...

This post makes me giggle. And also makes me things about the old Interior Design/FCCLA days. I'm definitely making a mental note to add oats. :)

I'm curious to hear if you all broke out the next couple days! Looks like tons of fun!
