One Last Hurrah!

Since my car broke down and I am now needing all the money I can squeeze out of my savings account to buy a new car, I decided I should go play today...... Callie and I had a brilliant idea a couple weeks ago while we were at Bear Lake. We decided we wanted to rent waverunners for a day one Saturday. We have connections with the owner of Dock At The Bay at Deer Creek Reservoir and she was willing to give us an awesome deal on waverunner rentals. Julie is now on my list of favorites. It's been a long time since I was last on a waverunner, but I did fairly well today. Callie, Merrilee, my friend Leesha, and Merr's friend Annette all went. We had the machines for 4 hours and Leesha, Callie, and I were on them for all but 30 minutes. Leesha got going pretty fast and managed to dump both of us, and then a few minutes later I went flying off the back of the machine. When we went in for our first check in we saw that Callie was still dry, how is that possible? Leesha and I were both soaking wet! Merr and Annette took the machines for a little ride (Merrilee was kind of CHICKEN) and then I got my own machine and Callie and Leesha took another machine. The goal was to have Leesha get Callie into the water and it was a complete success! Callie ended up in the water a couple times. Somehow I managed to throw myself off the machine. I remember going fast and then looking up and seeing a big wave and then I was in the water. I now have a fantastic bruise right on my ankle bone, but it was totally worth it. My top speed today was 58 km/h, which I think is pretty brave on my part. Our rear ends are sore from the constant pounding of catching air going over the waves, our arms are sore from working the throttle and holding on for dear life, our legs are sore from clenching to try to stay on the machines (in fact Callie and I look like a couple grandmas when we walk), and we are both a fantastically lovely shade of bright red! I loved this day!

Callie and Leesha helping Merrilee get on her machine. We had already been out for 1 1/2 hours and look how dry Callie still is!

Goodbye Callie and Leesha! The two dare devils did well together.
See Merr, it's not that scary.

"Look Mom! No hands!"

Annette is very daring, which kind of surprised me.
