New Year's 2011

Once again I got to spend my New Year's with my fantastic friends. After a lovely dinner at Stella Grill (where we ran into Bishop and Sister Anderson and he so kindly paid for our meals) we went back to Heather and Lisa's. The theme of this party was drinking. Heather was well supplied with a variety of beverages including IBC root beer, slush, strawberry daiquiries, and of course sparkling cider. Add that to all the junk food and we were totally wired for a few hours. I'm pretty sure I've gained about 84 pounds.
This is Amber, Heather, and D'Nell making their drunk faces.

Here is most of our group right before midnight. Four other girls had moved on to enjoy party hopping. Front row: Lisa, Kristy, and Amber. Back row: Me, Nicole, Heather, Melanie, and D'Nell.
We had a splendid evening watching Heather dance. Of course our song of 2010 was played at least twice, "Party in the USA." We are currently taking suggestions for our song of 2011.
We turned on the TV about 5 minutes before the ball dropped in Time Square. The countdown got to 18 seconds and Amber saw Melanie's pan and spoon and wanted one. Melanie ran into the kitchen and flipped on a couple light switches. What she didn't know was that one of those light switches controlled the power to the TV. We had started our countdown when the TV went black. We scrambled trying to get it back on, and after flipping the light switch we got the TV back on in time to watch the last of the confetti fall. It was super funny!
It was great to spend the evening with great friends. I'm not the type to make resolutions, but I do have high hopes that each year will improve and be better than the last. So, here's to a wonderful 2011, with exciting things happening in life.
