A Hawaiian Sunday

Sunday July 15th we got up and got pretty so we could attend church with family friends, Gail and Fred.  Gail is from Oahu and was there visiting her parents so we joined her for sacrament meeting.

If you've wondered what our relationship is like this is a pretty good description...

After church we made our way to the Punchbowl Cemetery.  This is a military cemetery.  I love cemeteries, there's just something so sacred and special about them.  This is a great honor for men and women who died serving our country.  There are memorials for the Vietnam War, Korean War, and World War II.  There are also murals mapping out the battles during WWII.  It was a great experience and preparation for our visit to Pearl Harbor later in the week.

After Punchbowl Cemetery we made our way to Pali Lookout.  It was beautiful despite the drizzle of rain.  The wind there is incredible!  We had fun fighting against it and taking pictures.  The view is amazing.

Attempting to pose nicely for a picture...
And then Travis tried to throw me over the edge.
The parentals
Finally, a nice picture
I told you the wind was nuts.  Check out the hair.  I was glad I had mine pulled back.
And then, of course, we needed model poses.

Our next stop was Queen Emma's Summer Palace.  We thought it was an appropriate stop.

The view of a Japanese cemetery from the freeway.  Beautiful.

Another wonderful day in paradise.  I am so blessed to have a family who values making memories by going on great vacations.  I am grateful that Travis and I were able to tag along.
