The Olden Days
If you haven't noticed I have not posted on my blog as regularly. The person who we were "borrowing" wireless internet from must have discovered us because I suddenly cannot find that connection! We haven't had internet access at our house for about 2 weeks and I'm going through major withdrawal. I've become obsessed with my blog and my gmail account. I am not able to access either one of these at school because they are "Personal Pages." As soon as I get my first big girl paycheck I will find an internet company! I've got tons of pictures from the first few weeks of school that I will post as soon as I find a computer with a fast connection. I am also taking up a fund if anyone is interested in contributing, it's called the "Sarah is poor" fund. :)

Request for Prayers
Yesterday evening I was informed that one of our students died on friday resulting from injuries of a car accident the previous day. As a school counselor I am involved in helping other students cope with this tragedy and understand their grief. Because the circumstances of my students death are still too familiar to me, and now with my other students, I ask for your prayers on our behalf to help eachother through this sad time. Thank you all for all the love and support that you give me! We will miss you Isaac!

Utah Shakespearean Festival
Kjersti had the brilliant idea a couple weeks ago to get tickets to the Shakespearean Festival down in Cedar City. We drove down (in my new car) Saturday morning and saw "Cyrano de Bergerac" at 2:00 in the Auditorium. At 8:00 we saw "The Two Gentlemen of Verona" in the Adam's Theater. It was a lot of fun. Aunt Nora and Uncle David were kind enough to let us stay at their house overnight, and then we drove home Sunday morning.

More Adventures in Cooking
Tonight I made Creamy Chicken Noodle Soup and it was absolutely FANTASTIC! I was enjoying it so much that I forgot to get a picture of Callie eating her soup.
Creamy Chicken Noodle Soup
6 cups water
2 chicken breasts
1 tablespoon chicken bouillon or base
2 cups chopped carrots
2 cups chopped celery
2 cans cream of chicken soup
1 cup evaporated milk
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
3 cups dry egg noodles
1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup water
Bring water to a boil in a large pot. Add chicken, bouillon or base and stir until dissolved. Cover and cook for 20 to 30 minutes until chicken is no longer pink in center. Remove chicken and cut in small pieces. Return to broth and add carrots, celery, and onion. Cover and cook until tender. Add noodles and cok for 10 minutes or until noodles are tender. Mix cream of chicken soup, evaporated mild and spices together and slowly stir into broth mixture. Whisk flour and cold water together stirring until smooth. Stir flour mixture into soup and cook until thickened.

Meet My New Car
Yesterday I happened to check ksl.com for cars. I found the exact car that I wanted for a great price. I called on it, my fantastic mom drove me down to Mapleton to test drive it, and I got it today! It's just so cute! Here's my list of my favorite features: it goes, there are no strange rattling noises, it's cute, there are no holes in the exhaust pipe, and the back lights are really cute (this has become a strange obsession for me). My mom drove me to Salt Lake to pick it up today after school and the awesome guy who sold it to me had me sign all the paper work and then he gave me the keys. Mom and I then went to the DMV to get license plates. After we waited an hour our number was called and we were informed that the guy had forgotten to sign ONE paper. So, the lady at the DMV wouldn't give me license plates or even a temporary permit. I couldn't just sit at home tonight, so I drove it out to West Jordan anyways so Dad, Emma, Kandus, and Leesha could check it out. I'll be making the rounds as soon as I get my license plates (which will hopefully be tomorrow) so that everyone can see it.
I have had more than one person ask me what I will be naming my car. Since I'm not a very creative person any suggestions on names will be appreciated. Right now the only option on the list is Scarlett.

One Last Hurrah!
Since my car broke down and I am now needing all the money I can squeeze out of my savings account to buy a new car, I decided I should go play today...... Callie and I had a brilliant idea a couple weeks ago while we were at Bear Lake. We decided we wanted to rent waverunners for a day one Saturday. We have connections with the owner of Dock At The Bay at Deer Creek Reservoir and she was willing to give us an awesome deal on waverunner rentals. Julie is now on my list of favorites. It's been a long time since I was last on a waverunner, but I did fairly well today. Callie, Merrilee, my friend Leesha, and Merr's friend Annette all went. We had the machines for 4 hours and Leesha, Callie, and I were on them for all but 30 minutes. Leesha got going pretty fast and managed to dump both of us, and then a few minutes later I went flying off the back of the machine. When we went in for our first check in we saw that Callie was still dry, how is that possible? Leesha and I were both soaking wet! Merr and Annette took the machines for a little ride (Merrilee was kind of CHICKEN) and then I got my own machine and Callie and Leesha took another machine. The goal was to have Leesha get Callie into the water and it was a complete success! Callie ended up in the water a couple times. Somehow I managed to throw myself off the machine. I remember going fast and then looking up and seeing a big wave and then I was in the water. I now have a fantastic bruise right on my ankle bone, but it was totally worth it. My top speed today was 58 km/h, which I think is pretty brave on my part. Our rear ends are sore from the constant pounding of catching air going over the waves, our arms are sore from working the throttle and holding on for dear life, our legs are sore from clenching to try to stay on the machines (in fact Callie and I look like a couple grandmas when we walk), and we are both a fantastically lovely shade of bright red! I loved this day!
