I know I've said before that I have the most amazingly awesome friends EVER! This is proof...
I got a phone call Monday evening from Michele wanting to know what I was doing Thursday night. I was considering plans, but I hadn't made any for sure, why? Michele and Tami got Kandus and I tickets to see Daughtry at the E-Center. Now, to fully understand the awesomeness of this situation you need to realize that Tami and Michele are huge Daughtry fans and chose to give us the only 2 tickets they had as early birthday presents. If you know them hug them for me please.
I was a little hesitant about going to the concert because the only Daughtry music I know is what has been played on the radio. But, my hesitation was foolish...

Elder Hales' Visit
Sunday April 18, 2010 Elder Robert D. Hales visited my singles' ward. We have been blessed to be visited by 2 members of the First Quorum of the Seventy (Elder Ringwood has been there twice), President Monson, and now Elder Hales since the beginning of the year. Apparently we are interesting to study. :) But on a serious note, the church is honestly concerned for those of us near and over 30 and still single, and they want to know how the church can better serve us. Elder Hales was the concluding speaker of our sacrament meeting and then held a question and answer session with us for Sunday School. I've never been around Elder Hales, and his conference addresses have always slightly intimidated me. But, I was so touched by his concern and love for us. It felt as though he was our grandfather. I thought I would share a few tidbits of what I got from his talk. Hopefully it means something to you.
- "Sarah, it's good enough just being you."
- I don't have to be like anyone else, I don't have to be something I'm not.
- I am a beautiful daughter of God.
- Is the facade I put on to the world different than how I feel?
- Is my world built too much around me and how I'm feeling?
- Do I really love myself? How can I make myself a better person?
- Do I love the Lord? The Lord taught, "If you love me, keep my commandments."
- Am I living in a way to be worthy to go to the temple? There is nothing else more important!
- If I love the Lord, let eternity come into my perspective. Do not beat myself up on what is here and now, these things may not matter in the eternities.
- If you want to be a good friend to yourself and others would you be able to ask, "How can I be a better friend?" and then LISTEN? You have to be willing to be teachable!
- The only thing worse than not being married at all is being married to the wrong person. If you get married for the wrong reasons you pay a dear price.
- Pray, fast, be close to the Lord that He might lead your way.
- There are many gifts I have that have not been developed. Search for them and then nurture them.
- As I am right now I am to be happy. Do not worry about what I don't have. I am beautiful just the way I am and that is good enough! Ask Heavenly Father to help you find that happiness.
- Am I the kind of person that brings light and happiness to the lives of others?
- I have the Gospel. Therefore, I have what is needed to help others be happy.
- Be close enough to Heavenly Father that I will be able to see and to know.
- I can be as good as I allow the Lord and the Holy Ghost to make me.
- Thank my Heavenly Father for what I DO have!
- Elder Holland said, "This is the church of happy endings."
This was an amazing experience that Heavenly Father knew I needed to have. I needed to hear these things and I am thankful for the answer to many prayers.

Cute Lizzy Moment
I do not have children, which would explain the randomness that is my blog. Most of my friends who have blogs have cute kid pictures and stories to tell. I have cute kitty pictures and stories. :) I love Lizzy and Darcy, and yes, they are rather spoiled. They rule the house.
For the last few weeks I have made my bed EVERY morning (a weird goal I suddenly created for myself). I quickly realized that maybe Lizzy had somehow worked her way into my mind to create this goal for me. She LOVES the pillows on my bed. She burrows down on top of some of my pillows and stays there for hours. She, for some reason, feels as though this is her royal throne. If only she had the money to replace the pillows because she is going to flatten them rather quickly.

A Special Bond
I am completely aware that I talk about Nauvoo a lot, and I'm sure many people think I spend too much time living in the past. While a bit of that may be true, Nauvoo was an experience that has helped to shape the person I am today. It is something that will always be near and dear to my heart. The amazing experience of Nauvoo and the personal growth that occurred there are due, in large part, to the wonderful and lifelong friends I made there. We were only in Nauvoo for 4 months and many friendships for that short amount of time fade, but the Nauvoo experience bonded several of us for life, and I'm pretty sure for eternity. I haven't seen my Nauvoo friends since Tyler's funeral, and that was a brief moment. But, we have tried to keep in touch a little bit through e-mail, Facebook, and blogs. I found out that my dear Shelby would be leaving Utah shortly and I would regret it if I was not able to see her before she left. The plan was set and Shelby contacted LeAnn, "You, me, Sarah Spaghetti Factory Friday at 5." We had a great evening catching up and remembering funny stories and how much we value our friendships. That bond that was made in such a short amount of time has not been forgotten and was so easily rekindled. It was as though no time had passed (even though cute Kaidrei is now a part of our circle). I truly am blessed to be surrounded by such wonderful people. We promised to be better about e-mailing and we already have plans for another gathering. Watch out Tara and Meagan, we are coming to find you next!

Introducing My Future Sugar Daddy!
Wednesday March 31, 2010 was magnificent! I really could leave it at that, but I should probably add a disclaimer. Because of my L-O-V-E love for Michael Buble I took like a million pictures (about 35 of him alone). I did not post all of them here, but if the outcry is loud enough I would be happy to post the remaining pictures. His face.... oh, how I love his face!
