This year for our 9th grade activity our assistant principal, Shauna, put together a luau for the students. It was held during the evening on Tuesday June 1, 2011. We had about 90 students show up and we all had a great time. The PTA this year has been fabulous and were a great help.

We began the evening with amazing food from Moki's. YUMMY!!! I helped a couple other teachers serve and then when it was our turn to eat these students magically appeared to serve us. A few of these boys are boys that I absolutely adore.

Our principal, Dave. He was brave enough to sit in the middle of this rowdy crowd. When he sat down these girls said, "We're going to teach you to eat like a Mexican." I don't think he ever figured out exactly what that meant.
Shauna with some students. These Polynesian students absolutely loved this night. They took great pride in it.
My boys. (Don't look too closely at the finger signs. I'm not promoting anything I promise.)
Some more of my favorites.
Another favorite of mine.
I really did not want to attend this event. But, it turned into a very enjoyable evening and I'm glad I went. It was fun to be able to celebrate and just relax with my students. I've been blessed with an awesome group of 9th graders this year and I will miss them a lot.
