Wednesday April 4 we made our way to Disneyland. We were only a 10 minute walk to the park! Awesome! We got going bright and early, meeting our students at the front gate at 8:00 a.m. We passed out park passes and then set them loose. Apparently Kjersti, Josh and I are cool because we had a whole group of students hanging out with us.
We decided to make an attempt at Splash Mountain. Helpful hint: Don't fill a Splash Mountain sled with 6 full grown bodies. That is just a huge mistake! The result.....(Kjersti, me, Mitchell, Cathy, Tyler, and Josh)
SOAKING WET! The people waiting to get on the ride when we got off looked terrified! We literally watched a wave come up over the front of the sled when we hit the bottom. I was able to stand up just enough to avoid too much water on my head, but Kjersti looked as though she's been dunked under a showerhead. Jameson and Cheryl were on the sled before us and didn't get nearly as wet.
We were lucky enough to have Park Hopper Passes, so Wednesday afternoon we headed over to California Adventure for a bit.
And then the boys photo bombed the picture. (Mitchell and Stephen)
Wednesday night we went to Medieval Times. SO MUCH FUN! We'd spent the entire day at Disneyland and when you asked anyone in our group what their favorite part of the day was they all said, "Medieval Times!" It was set up in a large arena and we were all given crowns to wear. Our group was the red and yellow group. We were given a delicious meal that we then had to eat without utensils. Let the show begin...

The Yellow Knight!
The Blue Knight
The Black and White Knight
The Red and Yellow Knight!! YAY!! Hooray!!
The Red Knight
The Green Knight (The eventual victor)

The King
Yes, I had to eat this without utensils...

The noise that was created by our section was incredible! You would think that they would have made it so the Red and Yellow Knight won because we made such noise, alas, he was the first one out. Therefore, we had to transfer our noise to another knight. We eventually assisted the Green section in cheering for their knight (since he was the one who defeated the Yellow Knight who defeated our knight). That night was so much fun! As we were leaving the man who played the Red and Yellow Knight walked past our group. Our kids went nuts (it helped that he was rather dashing...)
Then it was back to the hotel for room checks. Somehow Kjersti and I ended up with a room right in the middle of all the boys' rooms. Therefore, we ended up checking all of their rooms. It was super unnerving to have Mitchell answer the door without his shirt on and make googly eyes. Kjersti thought it was hysterical. He quickly learned about Travis...
