Spring Break 2012... Let The Adventure Begin!

I love Spring Break! It always comes at just the perfect time in the school year, right when I'm about ready to strangle somebody. Anyways, this year I actually had plans! Woohoo! Kjersti contacted me a few months ago and asked if I would like to go with her as a chaperone for Hunter High School's Performing Arts Tour to Disneyland. Ummm... Let me think about that for a minute... YES!!
I attended an information meeting where I got to meet the other chaperones and be introduced to the students (which began some creepy attempts at flirting that I'll expound on later).
Tuesday April 3rd we hit the road. It was an early morning, leaving Hunter High at 7:00 a.m. and was a long day on the bus.
Everything went perfectly well (except that 18 year old Mitchell kept trying to hit on me) until we reached the desert between Las Vegas and Barstow, California. We had enough people to fill a large tour bus and a smaller bus, affectionately known as "The Short Bus." The Short Bus began
to overheat and the driver had to pull to the side of the ride a few times. We finally reached a rest area and let the bus cool down a bit while trying to decide what to do.

Decisions, decisions...
Kjersti and I in our matching traveling outfits. Yes, friends we are awesomely pulling off Backstreet Boys' concert t-shirts!
A decision was reached that we needed to get to Barstow to get to a shop. But, we needed to make life easier for the Short Bus, so all 85 of us loaded on the big bus and rode the 30 miles to Barstow. It was comfy cozy. We fit 3 of us to a seat, and a few sat or stood in the aisles.
We made it to Barstow and the Short Bus was quickly fixed (some sort of computer issue) and we were on our way again. Next stop... Anaheim! Bring on Disneyland!
