Wednesday March 6 was time for our 8th graders to spend some time in Reality Town. After a 2 hour set up the night before and an early morning to put together the last minute details our gym was transformed. I love this activity, but I also love when it's over!
It seemed this year that our students really got a lot out of the activity. Many made statements about being grateful for all that their parents do for them. It was fun to see them realize how expensive life really is.
When the students ran out of money they could go enlist in the military. We had actual servicemen there to volunteer at the Military booth. The students had to pass a test, and then these guys made them do push-ups! It was awesome to watch!
Our fantastic counseling team at Valley Jr. Jessica, Juliene, Tina, Julie, Jacob, and me. We work well together and have a good time while we're at it.
