Waterton July 17th

Friday we spent most of the day in Waterton. I LOVE Waterton!
Our first stop was the Prince of Wales Hotel. I'd never been there before, although my mom swears up and down that I have. This is the view from behind the hotel.

Cameron Lake

Where there is water you will find the White family, no matter the temperature. Usually Cameron Lake is freezing because it's water from a glacier. But, this year it was rather pleasant. Mason and I got in up to our knees and would have gone further if we had been dressed appropriately.

Mason and Taylor

This deer was wandering along the side of the road. Taylor had said that she wanted to see a deer (although she thinks it's spelled dear...), she got her wish.

The next thing out of Taylor's mouth was, "Now I want to see a bear." We all giggled a little at that because we have never seen a bear in Waterton, but sure enough we saw one crossing the road. Taylor's wish is Mother Nature's command...

Emma and Mom at Waterton Lake

Down at Waterton Lake we did the usual... skipping rocks. Taylor had never skipped a rock before so she got a lesson from the experts, Mason and Dad. They had to find the perfect rocks to make it work correctly. Taylor developed her own stance (see picture below) and became quite successful (despite the giggling from the peanut gallery).

Mason had to get in his daily dose of torturing Emma...
(I'm sure it didn't help to have all of us sitting behind him encouraging the action)
All wet!

Dad and Mason should have been geologists, they are always interested in cool looking rocks.

After playing by the water and having a picnic by Waterton Lake we did our usual shopping and then had to stop for our tradition... ice cream!

While attempting a piggy back ride my earring fell off and rolled across the sidewalk and down the rocks. Luckily it didn't land in the water and we had a clear view of it. Mason volunteered to climb down and get it for me.

This is what my mom thought of that idea...

My hero!!!

Since I didn't get my piggy back ride to begin with I wanted a second shot. This time Mason tried to dump ME over the edge. If you thought my mom freaked out with Mason climbing down the rocks imagine what she did when I was almost THROWN off the edge. We had to check her pulse a few times...
