Ocean Shores and Pacific Beach Adventures

Today we drove into Ocean Shores to play a little bit.

Despite the weather forecast of cloudy and 65 degrees, I dressed in capris, a short-sleeved shirt and flip-flops hoping this would send a sign to the universe that I was ready for warm weather.
... This is what I looked like by lunch time.

We went to the beach and found another magnificent sand castle that Emma and I quickly chose to claim as our own.

Just try keeping us out of the water!
Yes, it was cold.

It's his fault we love the water so much!

Ooops! I went a little too far and got water clear up past my knees.

The parental units trying to keep warm.

Just in case you forgot our names.

In our search to find me a boyfriend of the day we found our winner at the Beach in Ocean Shores. What do you think?

This evening I went for a walk/jog on the beach by myself. I found myself laying on a bed in the house reading a book and thought, "I'm at the beach, why am I inside the house?!" So, I pulled my jogging shoes on and took off for an hour before dinner. I was amazed at how easy it was to run on the beach. We need one of these in Utah, I would be much more likely to go for a jog and be happy about it.

The fog was rather thick, and a little eery out there by myself.

After dinner we all headed back to the beach to build a sand castle! This time we actually did build it (which is probably why it's not nearly as amazing as the others we've claimed).

Emma was put to work digging the moat. However, she was fired shortly after she came to work for texting on the job.

While we were busy designing our castle, Dad entertained himself with bubbles. It's all those years teaching elementary school starting to shine through.

What a mess!

The finished product. Please note the unique features of our castle. 1. The emergency water slide coming out the back of the building. It will dump you directly into the moat (which is not filled with alligators). 2. The 2 buildings closest to you adorned with the sand dollars... one is for out of season shoes, the other is for out of season clothes. The both have walkways leading directly to them from the castle.

Remember how I started the day off in capris and short sleeves? This is how I finished the day! However, I'm not missing the blistering heat of Utah. I would just like to find a happy medium.

I love the claiming of sand castles. Pretty sure I'd do the same thing. And I think today's boyfriend is a keeper! He's just a misunderstood soul... :)
